The Boquet watershed is located almost exactly at the midpoint between the equator and the north pole. A graph of the average temperatures shows the climate to be temperate, with the average temperature above freezing for about eight months of the year.
The area is not near enough to the Atlantic Ocean to be considered a "coastal" climate, but neither is it so far away that it is a "continental" climate.
The freeze free date in the spring is usually between May 10 and May 20; the first freeze date in the fall is usually beween September 30 and October 10. This gives a freeze-free growing season of between 130 and 150 days - less than one-half of the year.
The average rainfall for the year is about 91 cm (36 inches). The rainfall is fairly evenly distributed through the year, though slightly higher in the warmer months. There is no division of the year into "wet" and "dry" seasons as there is in many parts of the world.
