The landscape of Chiloe is mostly as you see it above: green rolling hills covered with scrub forest and cleared pastures in the valleys below. Off the coast are three small islands with a penguin colony. We took a boat out to see them - they are mostly Magellanic Penguins (right) and a few of the rarer Humboldt Penguins. It was raining and the boat was bouncing and spray was flying but we did manage to get a picture.
